So, seems like we have a lot of ferals coming up so I'll talk a little about a few things that people might not know. Some of this you might know but I strongly recommend reading www.wowwiki.com/Druids_as_Tank for a full summary. Important things (my highlights)
Crit immune: To be crit immune, you need two things, 3 points in Survival of the Fittest and a defense total of 415. There is no point in spending item points on defense unless you hit 415. With those two things, you are uncrittable (there is always a chance you can be critted but it drops to like 1 in 1000). This is huge in helping even out damage which you then use your armor/hp to mitigate.
Armor: Target 20k to start. The Heavy Clefthoof set is a good place to start and several Druid staves have extra armor. Braxxis' Staff of Slumber is a good one - sometimes up to 200g on AH, sometimes less then 50.
HP: Be in the 12k range with just self-buffs. If you can hit that and have a lock (Imp) and a Priest (fort) you'll then be pushing 14-15k with their buffs.
Attack power/offensive crit: This is a really important stat that kind of gets overlooked in the tanking discussion. You generate threat by the damage you do, the more damage, the more threat, the better to hold aggro. If you can push 30% crit, then on a 3 mob swipe, you will almost always crit on at least one, creating more threat and keeping the mobs glued to you. You want to focus on the defensive stats but the more threat you generate, the more your DPS classes can go to town the faster the fights.
Just a few tips, let me know if people are interested in me posting more.
