I had completed this quest this summer with the help of Rampage--many of whom are here with us in Lifers.
I broke the chain down into 4 sub-chains with 1-4 quests per sub-chain.
Warlock Epic Mount Quest
I. Epic Mount Starting Chain.
A. Mor'zul Bloodbringer
B. Rage of Blood
C. Wildeyes
II. Imp/Parchment Chain.
A. Lord Banehollow
B. Ulathek the Traitor
C. Xorothian Stardust
D. Imp Delivery (Dungeon)
III. Summoning Circle
A. Doomsday Candle
B. Bell of Dethmoora
IV. Dreadsteed of Xoroth (Dungeon)
Mor'zul Bloodbringer
Speak with Mor'zul Bloodbringer in the Burning Steppes. He is located at the West end of BS near the Altar of Storms. He starts you on…
Rage of Blood
In distant Winterspring there dwells a race of owl beasts. Once pure creatures, they were turned mad by the demonic emanations of the Darkwhisper Gorge and now roam the snows in a frenzy. Kill owl beasts at Owlwing Thicket SE of Everlook. You need 30 Raging Beast’s Blood to complete this quest with Mor'zul Bloodbringer in BS. He next sends you on….
30 Raging Beast’s Blood
Wildeyes
My servant, Gorzeeki, is an alchemist of some skill. He can prepare the ink I will need for your parchment. I gathered together the blood you acquired; take it to Gorzeeki so that he can begin his work. While Gorzeeki is working on the parchment, he will send you on….
Lord Banehollow
Purchase Shadowy Potions from Gorzeeki in the Burning Steppes. Have a lot of cash on hand, these potions are expensive. Use the potions to travel through Jaedenar, and speak with Lord Banehollow. Lord Banehollow is in Felwood across the road from Bloodvenom Falls. Lord Banehollow will start you on…
Ulathek the Traitor
Confront Ulathek, then bring The Traitor's Heart to Lord Banehollow in Jaedenar. Ulathak is located near Lord Banehollow in Felwood. Once Ulathak is dead, Lord Banehollow starts you on…
Xorothian Stardust
Purchase Xorothian Stardust from Ur'dan. If I remember correctly this stardust is 150G a pop. Bring it to Gorzeeki Wildeyes in the Burning Steppes. He is in Shadow Hold with Lord Banehollow and Ulathek the Traitor. Bring the Stardust to Gorzeeki and he will start you on…..
Xorothian Stardust
Imp Delivery (Dungeon)
Bring the Imp in a Jar to the alchemy lab in the Scholomance. After the parchment is created, return the jar to Gorzeeki Wildeyes. Join a standard 10-man scholomance raid and make sure they are willing to do Ras Froswhisper. Be sure they clear the right side of his room where the alchemy lab is. After making sure you have a clear shot to the alchemy lab, proceed with your raid to the final 6 bosses and the Darkmaster. After you kill the Darkmaster, stay inside the instance and wait for everyone to Hearthstone and Portal out. Ask to become the raid leader, and proceed to uninvite everyone if they have not already left the raid group. Once you are the only person left in your raid, it will automatically revert back to a 5 man group, and you will not be kicked out because you are the leader. Just run back through the viewing room and to the pre-cleared alchemy lab to release the imp. (You can also get the deeds for the Barov Family Fortune quest by using this method). Once this is completed, return to Gorzeeki.
See Mor'zul Bloodbringer to start on…
Doomsday Candle
Bring 35 Black Dragon Scales to Gorzeeki Wildeyes in the Burning Steppes. You can get Black Dragonscales off of Black Dragonspawn(52+), Black Dragonspawn(54+), Flamescale Wyrmkin(58+), Black Broodling(52), Flamescale Dragonspawn(57+), Black Drake(50+) in BS. Turn these into Mor'zul Bloodbringer and then he starts you on…
35 Black Dragon Scales
Bell of Dethmoora
Bring 10 Elixirs of Shadow Power to Gorzeeki Wildeyes in the Burning Steppes. This is an alchemy recipe and made with Ghost Mushroom and Crystal Vial. You will need 6 Ghost Mushrooms and 2 Crystal Vials in order to produce 10 Elixirs of Shadow Power. Once you turn in the Elixirs of Shadow Power to Gorzeeki Wildeyes and he hands you the Bell of Dethmoora, the Doomsday Candle and the ink for your parchment, Mor'zul Bloodbringer then he starts you on…
6 Ghost Mushrooms
2 Crystal Vials
Dreadsteed of Xoroth (Dungeon)
Read Mor'zul's Instructions. Summon a Xorothian Dreadsteed, defeat it, then bind its spirit to you.
All the preparations are made. Now, you must perform the ritual to create a Circle of Greater Summoning, then use the parchment infused with Xorothian stardust... to open a portal to Xoroth.
I have written the instructions for the ritual onto a scroll. Study it closely, for you must perform each step exactly if you wish to succeed.
Fortune to you, Theterran. And may the souls of your enemies swiftly find their way into your shard pouch.
Go To Dire Maul….
Alright, after defeating Immol'thar (be aware to kill his eyes quickly!), our group - warrior, hunter, priest, paladin, warlock (me) - buffed up and I released the imp from his jar. After releasing the Imp he will start placing the bell, wheel and candle in the circle. After placing those 3 items he will disappear. As soon as the Imp leaves, Imps spawn at the edge of the summoning circle. These don't hit for more than 1 if the artifacts are all working.
When an artifact goes down, it makes a loud noise and floats lower, and it can be easily identified by mousing over it (if it's broken it will have the wheel instead of the mouse pointer). Fixing it costs a soul shard, so bring plenty. I used around 10 for repairing the artifacts, and 3 more for enslaving a demon, a healthstone for the warrior and a soulstone for the pala.
After a while, dread guards will spawn after each other (4 to be precise). It's wise to enslave the first one so he can attack the next dread guard that spawns. (If there are 2 warlocks in the group, you each enslave one and let the enslaved one kill the other spawns). If another one adds while the other hasn't died yet, you should banish it, since these are strong (level 60 elites).
Once all four dread guards have spawned, the ritual will soon be over. You can check this by looking at the pink symbols at the floor - 9 have to be lit to create enough energy for the summoning circle.
You will directly notice when the ritual is complete as around the circle is a strong energy wall with lots of purple and pinky bubbles rising from it. All demons will be banished back to xoroth almost immediately. Now it's time to rest up, drink, buff, eat and so on.
After you have had enough rest and everyone is ready, you can use the xorothian glyphs to pull the dreadsteed into the circle. It's a level 62 elite horse, but it isn't very hard. It has a nice kickback and does some decent damage, but nothing to worry about, much easier than Immol'thar himself and his eyes. After a while of fighting the steed (the steed will be around 70%-50% of its health), it's master, Lord Hel'nurath (I think), will spawn. Continue killing the steed with preferably your tank, tanking the lord. Once the steed is down, talk to it to finish your quest in case your party goes down. The Lord drops some decent loot too, so the effort wasn't completely worthless for the others helping. And to be honest, this quest is one of the most exciting I ever did, and most fun to do. My party members also said this was really, really fun
And after this event, enjoy your mount!
